About Dr. Hillary Roland
Over 16 Years Experience in Healthcare
My road to naturopathic medicine was a winding one. I began my career as a medical interpreter helping Spanish-speaking patients navigate the traditional medical arena. After years of seeing medical doctors work with crippling time constraints, offer quick fixes for symptoms, and overuse drugs to treat the side effects, I knew there had to be a better way. Soon I sought out alternative healthcare to help me end a life-long struggle with chronic sinus infections and debilitating menstrual cycles. I saw my first Naturopathic Doctor in 2003. The changes in my health seemed miraculous and I felt heard for the first time; I was instantly sold.
After going back to school to complete pre-med prerequisites I started the naturopathic medicine program at Bastyr University in 2005. Two years later I added a second degree program and began training as a direct-entry midwife. As I developed my passion to support women through every stage of their lives, midwifery was an obvious choice to broaden my education to include pregnancy, birth, post-partum and infant care expertise. I graduated from Bastyr in 2010 with a degree in Naturopathic Medicine and a Certificate in Naturopathic Midwifery. I then completed a yearlong clinical residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health where I received advanced clinical training in gynecology, autoimmune disease, diabetes and heart disease.
Since working with mamas and kiddos is my passion I also completed a 2 year preceptorship at the Odessa Brown Pediatrics Clinic in Seattle WA, working alongside one of my heroes, noted pediatrician Dr. Ben Danielson. Although I am no longer attending births, I truly believe that a healthy pregnancy, birth, and early childhood lays the foundation for life-long wellness, and I love supporting women and children during this epic transformation.
My clinical experience has been focused on health for the entire life-cycle: pre-conception care, pregnancy, infant heath, emotional development, hormonal transitions and support of aging bodies. I use conventional and functional diagnostic techniques to investigate the root cause of each patient’s unique set of symptoms. As a healthcare provider I am adept at evaluating the latest research and utilizing a wide range of healing modalities including botanical medicine, therapeutic nutrition, lifestyle changes, physical medicine, counseling, and pharmaceuticals* to guide my patients towards optimal health.
After running a successful practice from 2011-2015 in California, I returned to Colorado to be closer to my family and joined the team at Naturopathic Women’s Wellness. Then in 2017 I opened my own practice in Evergreen, CO. As a native to Evergreen, I am thrilled to be providing individualized and integrative care to women and families in my community.
*In the state of Colorado pharmaceutical prescribing is not currently in the Naturopathic Doctor’s scope of practice. However I seek to collaborate with your primary care provider or specialists to help you attain prescription medications when necessary.

Credentials & Affiliations
I am licensed by the state of California and registered by the state of Colorado as a Naturopathic Doctor. As one of the few experts in naturopathic care during pregnancy and childhood, I frequently present to both medical professionals and the general public on many topics including: hormone health, detoxification, vaccine safety and natural treatments in pregnancy and pediatrics. I also serve on the board of San Francisco Fire Fighters Cancer Prevention Foundation, helping keep our heroes safe from toxic damage on the job.
I am an active member of the Colorado Naturopathic Doctors Association (CoAND) and PedANP.
